Opt out of targeted advertising

Stops us from sharing your information with advertising platforms to measure ads or show you ads based on your visit.

This setting is saved in this browser only. If you use a different browser or device, or clear your browsing data, set it again there. To apply a permanent choice across our records, send us a request through the contact form.

What this actually controls

When you arrive from one of our search ads, the ad platform adds a click identifier to the web address. We normally store that identifier and attach it to your form submission, so we can tell which ads bring us real customers. We also send advertising platforms a hashed — one-way scrambled — version of your email and phone number so they can match it to an account without ever reading the real values.

Opting out stops both.

It does not stop us from using your information to give you a quote and provide service. That is what you asked us for, and it continues either way.

Why this page exists

Several state privacy laws treat the advertising activity described above as "targeted advertising," or as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and require a clear way to opt out. Rather than work out which states apply to us as we grow, we offer the choice to everyone.

Your other rights

Opting out of advertising is one choice. You can also ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your information entirely
  • Stop texting or emailing you

All of these go through the same place.
